How to Improve your self-love as a Single Black Woman in 2022

  Happy New Year, and welcome to 2022. If I am honest, my new year did not get started the way I had planned. My goal was to leave depression and feeling unmotivated in 2021, but both joined me in the new year. As I took a mental inventory of why I was feeling depressed and unmotivated this month, I realized being single still, past 9-5 work experiences, and entrepreneurship, more directly imposture syndrome, were the top things mentally affecting my mind. These areas of my life overwhelmingly made me feel not enough, small, alone, and invisible. It is depressing to enter yet another new year single AF. I would give anything to cuddle right now, receive a text from a man, go on a date and have sex. Listen, if horny was a person. Lol. Moreover, I miss a particular person a lot. I am Single Still 

Being single has been one of the hardest invisible struggles of my life. I never thought I would be 32, not married, at that, not even close, and extremely lonely. In 2021, I reached a dark mental space across various areas of my life. I decided to create a safe space where society saw past my pretty face, or the girl men (mostly the wrong men) tried to talk to all the time. At my core, I was a Black woman who believed love forgot about her and would never happen for her. The only way I would change this thought process was through healing. I Am Single Still is a creative support service to assist millennial-aged Black woman’s (or any woman’s) healing journey of being in your 30s and single still. I pray this community encourages you not to give up hope as life brings many challenges being single and lonely. While meeting the right Mr. Right or saying I Do is unknown, deciding to be vulnerable & heal is not.

Ness Monét (she/her/hers) is a 32 year old full-time entrepreneur and content creator who has turned her pain into her empire. I am Single Still is a service under Ness Monét the Brand. Ness Monét the Brand is a personal journey turned into a support hub for Black millennial-aged women in the areas of health, healing, and financial wellness. Ness is a double alum of Morgan State University. She has been single (no relationship) since 2011.
